POM and PETA (Warning Very Graphic Content)

Despite being a vegetarian, I am not a big fan of PETA . I know that they do some good. But I am turned off by the crazy stunts, over zealous campaigns and over reliance on celebrities.
However, with regards to their recent campaigns against pomergrant juice make POM, I am in total agreement with Peta. I mean do we really need to test on animals just to prove that juice is healthy? How idiotic is that. If you really need to test it, then why not do an epidemiology study on humans who consume it?

Note:I do not think this video is work safe, or appropriate for young children.

Matzoh Ball Soup

Matzoh Ball Soup
Matzoh Ball Soup,
originally uploaded by Vegguy.
Here's a picture of the soup. The soup part came out well even though I used slightly different herbs than called for.
The Matzoh Balls did not come out as well. I'm not sure if it's because I boiled them too hard or too long, or if it's because I messed up the portions since I cut the serving size down.
This soup is base on the recipe from the Post Punk Kitchen Episode 3.
Available on google video at this link. The recipe is available at the Post Punk Kitchen website.

Pita Pizza

Pita Pizza
Pita Pizza,
originally uploaded by Vegguy.
Just testing Flickers Blog this feature. Blogger + Flickr = <3

This is a Pita Pizza, basicly I just take a pita, add some tomato sauce, assorted veggies and maybe some vegetarian sausage or pepperoni. I ussually cook these in a toaster oven, but you could cook one in a regular oven. This one has some Tahini drizzled on it to imitate the look of cheese.

Silly Quiz

You Are From Pluto

You are a dark, mysterious soul, full of magic and the secrets of the universe.

You can get the scoop on anything, but you keep your own secrets locked in your heart.

You love change and you use it to your advantage, whether by choice or chance.

You don't like to compromise, to the point of being self-destructive with your stubborness.

Live life with love, and your deep powers will open the world to you.

Apparently noone has told them that Pluto is no longer a planet. Wait that means that I am what ???

The Toynbee Convector

No this is not about the book by Ray Bradbury.
It is is about a short video by RenewUS.
Why then you might ask did I use the name of a Ray Bradbury story as the tittle of this post?
Well I think that RenewUS has created a mini toynbee convector. Once you watch the movie I think you will see what I mean.
For those of you who have not read the story by Ray Bradbury, here is a link to the Wikipedia article on it.(Warning it contains spoilers)
But the real question is can this little video and RenewUS really change the world?
Only time will tell. But I for one mean to put some of my money into clean energy stocks :)

Vegan Sushi

I made some yummy Vegan sushi based on this video. The Post Punk Kitchen Episode 1.

I used scalions, avocados (yum) and cucumbers.
I concocted a diping sauce from some Plum sauce, Braggs, Toasted Sesame seed oil and spices that I had lying about.

This kind of sushi is know as Norimaki. For more great info on Sushi check out this cool website.

Last.fm and Pandora

Well I added this music tracker from Last.fm that keeps track of my most recently played songs. Unfortunately it seems to be rather buggy. Quite a few songs that I listened to have not shown up in the list. Some sort of tagging problem it seems, but I don't think it's worth the effort to try and fix it. So I'm not going to worry about it. Also I can't seem to be able to get the tracker to work in the sidebar of this blog.

Update: Just found out about Pandora. And found out that Real-ity.com has created a clone of the Pandora Player that submits tracks to last.fm. And it seems like this is the solution to my tagging problem with Last.fm. :)
